Why I started this company
My name is Kyle Bennett. I was born in Bellaire and grew up off Bissonnet Street — my dad ran a heating-and-air shop on Stella Link Rd for nearly thirty years. I graduated from Texas A&M with a Bus. Admin degree in 2005, then spent 2010 to 2017 at the Atlas Van Lines Houston branch, the last four as operations manager. I learned every loop exit, every Energy Corridor garage code, and every Med Center loading-dock window the hard way.
I opened 1st Choice Moving & Storage in 2017 because Houston families kept asking the Atlas branch for one thing the franchise model refused to deliver: a real warehouse you could walk into, our own roof, climate-controlled, between move dates. I leased 30,000 sqft on Long Point Rd that summer and the “& Storage” in the brand name has been literal since day one.
The office and the crew
We’re fourteen names on payroll, eleven W-2 movers and three office staff. Seven trucks live at the Spring Branch yard. Nobody on the truck is a contractor or a Craigslist day-labor swap. Here’s who picks up when you call.

Amanda runs intake out of the Sugar Land office — she files the COI and the HOA paperwork for gated neighborhoods like Riverstone and Cinco Ranch before the truck rolls. Bryan walks Inner Loop, Heights, Montrose, and Bellaire homes in person, measuring doorframes that don’t show up on Zillow.
Why Westside work goes to Trent
Trent Kowalski joined me in 2018 out of a Halliburton supply-chain role. He knows the Energy Corridor inside out — the badge protocols at ExxonMobil’s Springwoods Village campus, the after-hours loading bays at Chevron Tower, the Shell Woodcreek elevator hours. If your move involves a Memorial Drive house and an I-10 West office tower, Trent draws the route.

Devin came over from a NASA-adjacent contractor in 2019 and knows every weigh station from Beaumont to El Paso. The crew that loads at your Houston curb is the same crew that unloads at the other end. No broker swap, no “your shipment is on another truck.”

What we’ll never do
We will never sell your phone number to a lead-broker network. We’re not a matching service or a quote aggregator — we’re the licensed mover, and the truck at your door has our name and Long Point Rd address on the door.
