Are you a licensed Texas mover?
Yes — 1st Choice Moving & Storage is a fully licensed and insured Texas household-goods mover with state HHG license and DOT/MC interstate authority on file.
What is your hourly rate?
$179/hr for two movers and a clean truck, signed up front. Stairs, wrap, and sealed-pad blankets included.
Do you do flat rates?
Yes — 1BR at $545, 2BR at $1,195, 3BR at $2,095. We sign the figure before we touch a box.
How much is long-distance from Houston?
From $2,795 on the closer I-10, I-45, and US-59 corridor runs — Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, New Orleans. The same Houston crew loads and unloads.
Do you have your own storage?
Yes — 30,000 sqft climate-controlled off I-610 in Spring Branch. Daily or monthly at $185/mo. No third-party transfer.
Can you handle Med Center physician moves?
Yes. We schedule the July 1st resident-transition cycle around shift changes at MD Anderson, Memorial Hermann, Houston Methodist, Texas Children’s, and Baylor.
How do you handle hurricane season?
Every Jun-Nov contract includes a NOAA cone-projection clause, locked date windows, sealed-pad shrink against Gulf moisture, and a post-surge damage-assessment crew.
Do you serve Energy Corridor?
Yes. Trent Kowalski runs the Westside crew across ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, BP America, and Halliburton transferee relocations.
Can you reach Galveston and Clear Lake?
Yes — Devin Caldwell runs the Eastside and coastal crew out of Pasadena TX, including Friendswood, League City, NASA JSC, and Galveston Island.
What about Houston summer heat?
We start summer loads at 5am, run A/C-only transit, and seal-shrink against Gulf moisture so books and textiles never sit in 95F+ humidity.
Can you do same-day?
Often yes — we hold one truck back every Saturday. Call dispatch and ask Sarah what slots are open this week.
