What you’re agreeing to
By signing the flat-figure estimate from 1st Choice Moving & Storage, you’re entering a written household-goods contract with a fully licensed and insured Texas mover. The flat figure on the estimate is the figure you pay at the end; the deposit is $215, applied to the final bill and refundable up to 48 hours before move day.
- Deposit: $215, refundable up to 48 hours out
- Cargo coverage: $1M on every load that leaves Long Point Rd
- Federal baseline: $0.60 per pound per article
- Claim window: 9 months from delivery
How claims work
If something arrives damaged, you have 9 months from the day Trent or Devin signed off on the unload to file a written claim. The federal baseline is $0.60 per pound per article; full-value protection is available as a contract upgrade on the estimate sheet before move day. The in-house repair bench — Devin runs it on rainy weekdays — touches up minor furniture damage at our cost.
- Email [email protected] with photos and a description
- Amanda logs the claim and pulls the inventory list
- Bryan walks the damage at your home or our warehouse
- Resolution within 30 business days — repair, replace, or pay
Hurricane-season date clauses
Every contract written between June 1 and November 30 includes a NOAA cone-projection clause: if a named-storm cone crosses Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, or Montgomery counties within 96 hours of the scheduled load date, we re-roll the move at no charge. Storage at the Long Point Rd warehouse is available at the standard $185/mo rate during the delay.
